Spark Licenses
Electrician licensing, state by state
All fifty states and the District of Columbia. Who issues the license, how the state is structured, and where to confirm it.
Three ways a state does this
- Statewide. 36 states license the trade directly, so one card works everywhere in the state.
- Split. 9 states license the contracting business and leave the individual to cities and counties.
- Local. 6 states license almost nothing centrally, so the city you are working in sets the rules.
